Winter choral concert scheduled Dec. 6 and 7

The Emerging Health Professionals Program provides high school seniors with an opportunity to experience a variety of health care careers in a hospital setting and take Penn State science courses for college credit. Students spend three days a week rotating among various departments of a hospital. Students will experience these departments throughout the three Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network facilities.

Representatives from Lehigh Career and Technical Institute and Penn State University will visit Emmaus High School 1 p.m. Dec. 19 to explain the program in detail and provide applications to interested and qualified juniors for the 2019-2020 academic school year.

Interested students should stop by the counseling office to register for the presentation.

The winter choral concert will be held 7 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7.

Students will be dismissed 11 a.m. Dec. 14.

The first Model United Nations meeting of the year will be held Dec. 5 in Room 531. The meeting will be held after dismissal until 3 p.m.. Anyone interested in attending the Model UN competition March 15 at Lehigh University should attend.

The Emmaus Rotary Club is looking for charismatic high school participants in its annual speech contest. There are cash prizes starting at the local level at Emmaus High School and at the finals in Allentown. For more information please see an Interact Club member or Mrs. Kaunitz by Dec. 5.

Students interested in the art and humanities trip to Italy should attend the rescheduled meeting 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5 in Room 517.

No Place for Hate will meet 7 to 7:20 a.m. Dec. 6 in Room 409.

The Habitat for Humanity gingerbread house competition will be held 5:30 to 8 p.m. Dec. 11 in the cafe. Registration sheets are posted outside Room 513 and are due Dec. 7.

A Global Citizens club meeting and holiday party which will be held Dec. 11 after school in Room 516.

If you are interested in learning about different cultures of the world, come to the Foreign Culture Club meeting in Room 516 after school Dec. 19.

The Student Government Association will host a blood drive for the Miller-Keystone Blood Center 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 8, 2019. If you would like to donate, email Mrs. Montero or stop by Room 537 to schedule a donation time.

Emmaus High School will be closed Dec. 24 to Jan. 1, 2019.

A guidance information night will be held for students in eighth and ninth grades at Emmaus High School Jan. 16, 2019.
