Macungie Holiday will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 8. Local businesses, the historical society and Macungie Memorial Park participate in this borough-wide event.

The Macungie Institute will feature farmer’s market vendors; Boy Scout displays and food and Santa and Mrs. Claus and Jasper Bear for photos. New this year will be appearances by Elsa, Belle and Spiderman at the Macungie Institute 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be a borough-wide scavenger hunt, horse drawn surrey rides and gingerbread displays at Kalmbach Park. Mini-buses will run in a continuous loop throughout town. Performances of “Nutcracker Highlights” by Coral’s Dance Academy will be held noon and 2 p.m. at Eyer Middle School. Embassy Bank’s Holiday Fireworks Spectacular will be held Dec. 14 at Macungie Memorial Park. From 6:30-7:30 p.m., there will be refreshments, cookies and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus followed by a fireworks display.

Grace Lutheran Church will host a free community meal 5-7 p.m. Dec. 14.

Concordia Lutheran Church, 2623 Brookside Road, will hold Advent worship services 7 p.m. Dec. 5, 12 and 19. An Advent supper will be held prior to the service 6 p.m.

There will be a New Year’s Eve bingo 7:15 p.m. Dec. 31 at Macungie Memorial Hall. The doors open 5 p.m. and food will be served 6 p.m. The event is BYOB. Tickets must be reserved by Dec. 15 by calling 610-966-4289 or by emailing macungiepark@gmail.com.

Christmas trees should be placed at the curb for pickup by the borough Dec. 31 and Jan. 7, 2019 for recycling at the Emmaus Compost Center. All ornaments, lights and tinsel must be removed.

Macungie Borough Council meets 7:30 p.m. Dec. 17 and Jan. 7, 2019 at borough hall, 21 Locust St., Macungie.

The Macungie Park Board of Directors meeting will be held downstairs 7 p.m. Dec. 11.
