Students of the Month are named
Northampton Exchange Club held its first Service to Youth program for the 2018-19 school year at Northampton Banquet and Event Center Nov. 7. The following seniors were cited as Students of the Month during the dinner meeting: Gabrielle Demchak, September Girl of the Month; William Bachiashvili, September Boy of the Month; Katelyn Graver, October Girl of the Month; and Cameron Eaton, October Boy of the Month.
The students were presented with certificates in recognition of their achievements, club pens and Lamp of Knowledge plaques.
Exchange Club President Wayne Mery said the four seniors were recognized not only for their academic success, but also for their extracurricular activities and involvement in various endeavors. Mery said credit also goes to the parents of the honorees for their role in raising and guiding their children.
Demchak is part of National Honor Society, DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America), German Club and Volunteer Club; participates in basketball, softball (Konkrete Kid Award), soccer (captain) and AAU basketball (Mid-Atlantic Awards); is a library aide and a volunteer with Bath firefighters; and earned deans scholar recognition from Moravian College.
Bachiashvili is part of National Honor Society, Student Council (president), Drama Club and the debate team (captain); participates in wrestling; and is involved in church and community activities.
Graver is part of National Honor Society, German Club (president), Student Council, SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions), the dance team, the debate team (captain), orchestra (honors pit) and marching band (violin/dance soloist); is a High School Scholars program member with Moravian College; earned the Gold Award with Girl Scouts; and is involved in the orchestra at church.
Eaton is part of National Honor Society, PE Club, Ski Board Club and Volunteer Club; participates in football, baseball (captain) and basketball; and is a coach for a youth football camp.
