Holly Carol Kennedy, 66, of Palmer, was arrested for alleged theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and access device fraud after she allegedly removed approximately $33,058 from a business account while working as an accountant for West Valley Presbyterian Church, 4251 Chestnut St., Upper Milford Township, between March 20, 2017 and November, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Troopers responded to the business after another employee became aware funds were missing from a business account. Investigation revealed Kennedy allegedly transferred money from the business account to her personal account by using a payroll system without authorization to do so, according to police.
Two males removed various items from Giant Food Stores, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 4:32 p.m. Sept. 12 and 1:08 p.m. Sept. 13. The men were seen driving from the scene in a silver Honda Accord. Anyone with information on this incident may contact Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville at 610-395-1438.
An unknown person entered a residence on Beverly Hills Road, Lower Macungie Township and disturbed, damaged and/or removed several items 9:41 p.m. Oct. 27. The person entered through the basement of the residence, according to police.
A Pennsylvania State Police trooper from the Fogelsville barracks of Troop M recently received recognition for his actions at Walmart in Lower Macungie Township.
Trooper Brian Bird received his award in a ceremony Nov. 14 in the annual Troop Drill Awards event. Awards and commendations were given to troopers, first responders and civilians for outstanding acts.
In a media release, Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville noted Bird was recognized for an incident March 28. According to police, Bird was dispatched to Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, for the report of a masked person attempting to shoplift. Upon arriving at the store within a few minutes, Bird encountered the suspect near the entrance to the store. As a foot chase started and multiple commands were given by Bird to stop, the suspect removed a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at Trooper Bird, according to police. As the suspect attempted to enter his vehicle in the parking lot, Trooper Bird fired nine rounds from his duty weapon, striking and fatally wounded the suspect, later identified as Aaron Ibrahem, 26, of Mertztown, Longswamp Township, Berks County.
Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville troopers responded to a neighbor dispute in the 1700 block of Minesite Road, Lower Macungie Township, 4:56 p.m. Nov. 16. According to police, the dispute resulted in one neighbor scattering dirt and mulch onto the front steps, siding and windows of a neighbor’s residence.
A Macungie man, no age given, was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on Hamilton Boulevard at Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, 1:57 a.m. Nov. 1.
