Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W Elm St., Allentown, is offering the following programs for seniors in December.
The following groups and disc jockeys will be playing oldies and requests at the Saturday and Wednesday dances, so come out and enjoy the music with your friends.
Dec. 5: KATO
Dec. 8: The Steel City Band
Dec. 15: King Henry and Jacob
Dec. 19: King Henry Duo
Saturday dances will be 7-10 p.m. The Wednesday dance will be 1-4 p.m. in the Trexler Room. Per person fee includes light refreshments. Singles and couples welcome.
The Lehigh Valley Pops Orchestra and Timely Tappers will perform a holiday concert 9:30-11 a.m. Dec. 20 in the Trexler Room.
Instructor Angela Faidley will lead a paint and wine Gingerbread House class 5:30-7:30 p.m. Dec. 5. Participants will all do the same painting while enjoying wine and snacks.
Instructor Dr. Charles Bonos is offering a WWII history discussion titled “The V1 and V2” from 2-3:30 p.m. Dec. 19.
The senior center will be showing the following movies:
Dec. 5: “Saved By Grace” 1:30 p.m. A retired police officer meets a mysterious woman who gives him a reason to re-examine what is most important to him.
Dec. 12: “Overboard” 12:15 p.m. In this gender swapped remake of the 1987 Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell rom-com of the same name, spoiled Mexican Leonardo hires single mother Kate to clean his yacht but unjustly fires her. When he falls off his boat and wakes up with amnesia, Kate’s boss convinces her to pretend to be Leonardo’s wife to get payback.
Dec. 19: “Welcome to Paradise” 1:30 p.m. Pastor Debbie has transferred to a small church in Paradise, Texas, where the community is in need of guidance back to God.
