Gockley Elementary School students can participate in Crayola’s Color Cycle program, which involves reusing old, dried-up and used markers for clean energy. Students can learn about simple ways they can help protect our environment.

Instead of throwing used markers into the trash and adding to growing landfills, Gockley Elementary collects them to send back to Crayola. There is no cost on the school’s part, and the program benefits a greener Earth for us all.

Crayola will accept all plastic-bodied marker types of any brand, including permanent markers, dry erase markers and highlighters.

If you’d like to participate in this program, put the markers in a bag and send them in with your child. There is a collection box in the art room, and once filled, it will be shipped to Crayola for recycling.

The program is coordinated by art teacher Chad Brader.

Visit crayola.com/colorcycle to learn more.
