Christmas house tour Dec. 1

Governor Wolf Historical Society will have its 38th annual Christmas House Tour of historic homes and landmarks 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 1 starting at the society’s historic site, 6600 Jacksonville Road, Bath.

This year’s theme is “Keep a Candle in the Window,” with an extensive display in the society’s museum of antique lighting from the 1700s and 1800s.

The campus will be open at 9 a.m.

On the site, there will be a free Historic Family Day featuring costumed craftspeople doing hearth cooking and demonstrating their crafts, activities for kids, and more.

There will be decorated fresh wreaths and swags for sale.

The Daily Grind Café will be open in the Monocacy School, offering soups, snacks and lunches to eat there or take with you on the tour.

Six private homes are featured on the tour this year, plus four other historic structures, all date to the 1800s and early 1900s.

House tour tickets may be purchased at a discount in advance, or full price the day of the tour.
