Main items on the Lowhill Township supervisors’ Nov. 1 meeting agenda were a correction about an ordinance hearing from the October meeting and a representative was in attendance to speak about the possibility of a community swimming pool.

According to township Secretary Jill Seymour, the meeting began with Supervisor Chairman Richard Hughes announcing there was an error with the time advertised for ordinance 2018-2 for vacating Winchester Road.

The time was originally said to be 6:45 p.m. but the hearing and the adoption were tabled until 7:25 p.m. Nov. 6.

Jan Sutermeister attended the meeting to discuss a proposed community swimming pool.

She wants Lowhill’s support at the multi-municipal level.

The swimming pool would be located at Northwest and Hunters Hill roads in Heidelberg Township.

Her group is seeking grants and donations from local businesses to make this project happen.

Supervisors were concerned about providing funding for the pool.

Sutermeister, however, was not looking for money at the time.

In other matters, Seymour said, during an interview, Hughes made a motion to accept the Dean and Diane Schaller minor subdivision plan for 3716 Pine Tree Road. The final plan, dated June 20, was revised to Oct. 11. Supervisor Robb Werley seconded the motion.

Administrator Brian Carl said there will be 22 acres, a shared driveway, and a waiver will be needed if a nonfamily member purchases the property.

A second driveway must be constructed.

Engineer Ryan Christman reported all issues have been addressed.

Werley made a motion to approve the Schaller final plan. Supervisor Buddy Wessner seconded the motion.

Carl provided administrator comments.

According to Seymour, Carl reported to the board comprehensive plan funding will be open in December.

Roadmaster Joe Kalusky provided the roadmaster’s report.

In October, the road crew prepared equipment for snow, cleaned out ditches, put stone on dirt roads and completed mowing for the year.

In November, they will have two tenths of a mile on Narris road paved. They will also complete leaf clean up and chipper maintenance.
