Lights in the Parkway to brighten the night sky

Allentown’s 22nd season of Lights in the Parkway opens 5:30 p.m. Nov. 23 in Lehigh Parkway.

Drive through this spectacular holiday light show in the comfort of one’s own car.

Dazzling new animated displays will be a part of this glowing show.

These larger-than-life light spectaculars join traditional favorites set to music, transforming more than a mile of one of Allentown’s most beautiful parks, Lehigh Parkway, into a winter wonderland.

Visitors will experience tunnels, favorite holiday scenes and more.

Hess’s iconic soldiers will be back to add to the magic and light up the night, and many of the beautiful trees in Lehigh Parkway are wrapped in lights and shining brightly.

Lights in the Parkway may be viewed Wednesdays through Sundays Nov. 23 through Dec. 9; and nightly 5:30-10 p.m. Dec. 12-28.

Lights in the Parkway will be closed Christmas Day.

Admission on site is $15 per car, $25 per commercial van, minibus and limo, and $45 per bus.

Tickets may be purchased in advance at lightsintheparkway.com or lightsintheparkway18.eventbrite.com at a discounted rate of $12 per car and $22 per commercial van, minibus or limo.

Credit card sales are accepted on site, but are only discounted if purchased in advance.

Lights in the Parkway also accepts checks or cash.

Advance ticket sales at $10 and $20 are available at the following locations:

• Allentown City Hall, 435 Hamilton St., Allentown; and

• Allentown Federal Credit Union - all locations.

At the end of the route, patrons are invited to visit the Gift Barn, which features a large selection of one-of-a-kind decorations, ornaments and holiday collectibles for everyone on your holiday shopping list.

Hot chocolate, popcorn, cookies and other refreshments are also offered inside the Gift Barn.

Credit cards are accepted in the Gift Barn.

New for the 2018 season, the City of Allentown is partnering with Run Lehigh Valley to host a “Paws in the Parkway” dog-friendly night out at Lights in the Parkway.

Runners and walkers may register their dogs for a canine wonderland, featuring doggy food and treat samples, pictures with Santa, and a commemorative bandanna to sport for the occasion.

The event will be on Dec. 4. For more information, visit runlehighvalley.com.
