School board OKs district plan

The Northampton Area School District comprehensive plan has been approved.

NASD Board of Education voted 9-0 at its Oct. 22 meeting to approve the plan, on the recommendation of the administration.

“Our comprehensive plan is a plan put together by our district community,” said Lydia Hanner, NASD director of curriculum and instruction, when she reviewed the plan at the Sept. 24 school board meeting.

The five-year plan includes “an action plan - where we’ve been, where we’re going and concerns we have,” according to Hanner.

Approximately 84 people - including NASD administration officials, teachers and students, community members, including parents and businessmen and women, - contributed to the plan.

The district-level comprehensive plan for 2019-23 is available on the NASD website, at district school buildings and at Northampton Area Public Library.

The 132-page comprehensive plan was posted Sept. 21 on the NASD website: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16FrKt6qVnplCc_d8GHPwKxTDrC9KSwO4/view
