SALISBURY TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT

At the most recent curriculum and technology committee meeting, Assistant Superintendent Lynn Fuini-Hetten presented the demographic data on students who attended school in the Salisbury Township School District during the 2017-2018 school year.

The total student population was 1,608 students.

Of those students, 37.2 percent, or 599 students were economically disadvantaged, up from the previous year where there were 553 students. English Language Learners in the district were 4.2 percent, down from the year before.

Students provided learning support services were 15.4 percent, up by approximately 2 percent from the year before. Students receiving emotional support were 1.7 percent, down from the year before.

Eighty-four students received gifted support services compared to 91 students who received those same services in the 2016-2017 school year.

Of the 1,608 students, 77 or 4.7 percent attended charter schools; eight attended cyber schools and 69 attended different school buildings. That is an increase from the 2016-2017 school year where there were 63 students in charter schools.

Twenty six students were home schooled in 2017-2018, up from 18 students the previous year.

For the 2018-2019 school year, there are 1,616 students enrolled in the district. There are 409 students assigned to Harry S Truman Elementary School, 263 assigned to Western Salisbury Elementary School, 387 assigned to Salisbury Middle School and 557 students assigned to Salisbury High School. These numbers include some students who are out of district.
