FUGITIVE SOUGHT

A New Jersey man is sought by federal law enforcement officials for his alleged involvement in the murder of a woman and her dog in a Newark, N. J., apartment, on Oct. 17, 2014, according to a media release from the Philadelphia division of the FBI.

On Nov. 3, 2014, Lamont Stephenson was charged with homicide by the state of New Jersey in Essex County, N.J., according to the FBI media release.

On Sept. 8, 2017, a federal arrest warrant was issued for Stephenson in the United States District Court, District of New Jersey, Essex County, after he was charged with alleged unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading directly to the arrest of Stephenson, now 43. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Stephenson is described as a black male, approximately 5-feet 7-inches tall, about 220 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
