Updates provided at NOVA luncheon

Northern Valley EMS Inc. welcomed its board of directors, administrators and auxiliary members, and local and state officials Oct. 4 to its headquarters in Ormrod for the annual roundtable luncheon.

Lunch was provided by the volunteers of the NOVA Auxiliary.

Invitees included local officials and administrators for which NOVA provides primary 911 coverage. This includes Heidelberg, Washington, and North Whitehall townships, Slatington and Walnutport boroughs and northern Lowhill Township.

In addition, representatives from the offices of state Rep. Zack Mako, R-183rd, and state Sen. Pat Brown, R-16th, also attended.

NOVA outlined its’ organizational objective, itemized daily community outreach activities, communicated to the legislature its appreciation and future concerns, reported financial standings and expressed appreciation to the local municipalities.

The highlight was the new Community Care Visit program.

NOVA’s new program is specifically designed to support residents in NOVA’s coverage area with regularly scheduled in home health assessments and resources.
