COLD NOSE LODGE LUXURY DOG CENTER

The Cold Nose Lodge luxury dog center hosted a 10th anniversary party at the center, 235 West Penn Ave., Alburtis, recently.

The event featured musical performances by “The Circuit Breakers,” of Emmaus, free refreshments, an anniversary cake and a chance to spin the prize wheel.

Vendors included Canine Acres Bakery and Deli, Bechtelsville, offering homemade doggy treats for sale. SOS Beagle Rescue collected toys for puppies, small puppy collars, dog treats and monetary donations.

In 2008, Rayne Reitnauer, a certified veterinary technician, opened the Cold Nose Lodge to provide specialized day care or boarding and training for dogs.

Lodge staff are active in the community and participate in many events. The center’s reputation has grown as a positive influence in the community.

The lodge is full almost every weekend, on holidays and in the summer, Reitnauer said.

There are plans to expand because an adjacent lot recently became available.
