Mark your calendar! On Nov. 9, there will be a Heidelberg Church Lutheran Fall Penny Party and Raffle 6 p.m. in fellowship hall. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Bring your friends plus lots of pennies and have fun bidding on food, household and hobby items, trinkets, home decor and seasonal decorations.

While there, enjoy some supper, too, for the kitchen will be open.

Like no other! Lehigh-Northampton County Pomona Grange members are having a shoofly pie bake sale fundraiser Nov. 17 at the Schnecksville Grange.

The recipe used for these 10-inch, wet-bottom shoofly pies is the same recipe Central Grange of Germansville used for more than 60 years to bake its famous pies.

To place an order, call 610-767-4400 no later than Nov. 9.

Pickup pies 1-3 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Schnecksville Grange, Route 873, Schnecksville.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used for various community service projects.

As always, thanks for your support.

Spread a smile! Donations of any kind of baked goods made with pumpkin are being sought for the Allentown Soup Kitchen and may be dropped off 6-7 p.m. Nov. 12 in Heidelberg Church’s fellowship hall.

According to Heidelberg Church Soup Kitchen Coordinator Linda Hausamann, 75 meals were served recently to the hungry and homeless.

The meal featured chicken salad sandwiches, tossed garden salad, apples and apple pie desserts.

Special thanks to the volunteers of the day: Sheri Hausman, Robin Koch, Eleanor and Ron Klevenhagen, Barbara Matthias and Linda Hausamann.

To find out more about helping at the soup kitchen, call Linda at 610-767-5282.
