EMMAUS HIGH SCHOOL
The Emmaus High School Drama Department will present “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time,” adapted by Simon Stephens from the novel by Mark Haddon, 7 p.m. Nov. 1, 2 and 3 in the EHS auditorium.
The play is directed by Jill Kuebler. Assistant Director is Diane DiDona along with student directors Lauren Leader and Gabriella Slak.
Fifteen-year-old Christopher has an extraordinary brain; he is exceptionally intelligent but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion for killing his neighbor’s dog, he sets out to identify the true culprit, which leads to an earth-shattering discovery and a journey that will change his life forever.
The EHS actors worked with EHS learning support teachers and staff to conduct research in an effort to learn about autism. Additionally, they are raising funds for autism awareness during the run of the show.
“Our actors have dedicated themselves fully to the study of Stephens’ beautifully crafted script in an effort to portray the characters and their journeys truthfully on stage,” Kuebler said. “This production would not have been possible without the commitment and dedication of each student involved, whether onstage or behind the scenes. Our students’ appreciation of theatre as a vital art form that teaches collaboration, respect and discipline constantly reaffirms my belief in the positive impact of the arts on the lives of young people. I am filled with pride at what they have accomplished and I am grateful to have played a role in their lives.”
