Author to speak about

LV Heritage museum:

New York Times best-selling author Kenneth C. Davis will recount the Great Influenza Pandemic of 1918 in a lecture and signing of his book, “More Deadly than War: The Hidden History of the Spanish Flu and the First World War,” 1 p.m. Nov. 3, Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum, 432 W. Walnut St., Allentown.

“This year is the hundredth anniversary of the Spanish flu, the worst pandemic in modern history,” said Joseph Garrera, Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum Executive Director.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, the 1918 flu epidemic infected some 500 million people, about one-third of the world’s population. An estimated 10 percent of victims died.

Davis is author of the “America’s Hidden History” and “Don’t Know Much About History.” He has been a guest on “The Today Show,” NPR and C-Span.

Davis’s book will be available for purchase and the author will sign copies.
