Coplay: Borough seeks tree donation

Coplay Borough is looking for someone to donate an evergreen tree for the town’s Christmas display, which will be decorated in conjunction with Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association’s tree-lighting ceremony and program.

Coplay Borough Council meets Nov. 6 for its monthly workshop to discuss agenda items for the Nov. 13 meeting. Both sessions start 7 p.m. and are open to the public.

***

The food pantry, sponsored by Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association, is looking for donations for Thanksgiving.

Items such as canned pumpkin, cranberry sauce, vegetables, stuffing and more are needed.

Stay tuned for more details.

***

Since many of the trees in the borough still have most of their leaves, public works personnel expect the Friday leaf pickups to extend further into November than usual.

Borough officials are happy to report there were no incidents reported during trick-or-treat night Oct. 26.
