Love their way: The late 1970s-1980s sound of The Psychedelic Furs is back, 8 p.m. Oct. 28, Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe. Led by vocalist and songwriter Richard Butler and his bass-playing brother Tim, the British New Wave band had major hits with “Love My Way,” “Pretty In Pink” (title of the hit 1986 film by director John Hughes), “Heaven,” “The Ghost In You” and “Heartbreak Beat,” released seven studio albums, several compilations, a boxed set, and a live concert DVD. The Furs touring lineup is: Richard Butler, vocals; Tim Butler, bass; Rich Good, guitar; Mars Williams, saxophone; Amanda Kramer, keyboards, and Paul Garisto, drums. Opening the concert is Liz Brasher, who released an EP, “Outcast,” in April 2018. Into The Wilderness: Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness is in concert, 8 p.m. Oct. 26, Sherman Theatre, Stroudsburg. McMahon is an American singer-songwriter who was vocalist, pianist and primary songwriter for the bands Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin. In 2013, he launched his solo career with an EP, “The Pop Underground,” followed by his debut album, “Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness,” in 2014 and “Zombies On Broadway” in 2017. His third solo album, “Upside-Down Flowers,” is to be released in November 2018.
