Weisenberg Volunteer Fire Department, 2500 Golden Key Road, Kutztown, is hosting a flea market, rain or shine, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 27.

Food, baked goods and soup will be available for purchase.

Many “treasures” will be displayed to buy.

Come out and support the fire company and do some early Christmas shopping.

There will be a Longaberger basket bingo Oct 28 at the Lynnport Fire Company, 7164 Behler Road, Lynnport.

Doors open at noon. Bingo starts at 1 p.m.

Food will be available for purchase. There will be free raffles, baskets, totes, pottery and much more.

Wear a costume or bring a canned good and get a raffle ticket to benefit Christ’s Church Lowhill Food Pantry.

All proceeds benefit the NWL Education Foundation.

Weisenberg Lutheran Church, 7645 Weisenberg Church Road, New Tripoli, will offer a Pennsylvania German Service, all in the dialect, 2:30 p.m. Nov. 4.

Pastor Guy Grube will minister.

There will be special music, a children’s choir, and refreshments will be served after the service.

The service will be similar to how church was conducted in the early 1900s.

Claussville Garden Club will meet 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville.

The theme will be “How to Make Wreaths with Wire.”

Weisenberg Lowhill Township Historical Society will host its annual banquet Nov. 13 at Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and a family-style dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.

Speaker will be Kevin Shoemaker, president of Alburtis Lockridge Historical Society.

The topic is “The 150th Anniversary of No. 7 Furnace at Lock Ridge.”

This is the story of the birth of the iron industry in Alburtis as well as the canals, railroads, buildings and construction, equipment, and production procedure.

He will also speak about the daily life of the workers and their families.

Reservations must be made by Nov. 2.
