Ironton Telephone calls on community to join celebration

Ironton Telephone Company recently sponsored a community day at its headquarters along Mauch Chuck Road, Ironton.

The program strived to connect members of the surrounding communities to each other as well as community resources.

Neffs Fire Department and Community Fire Company No.1, Schnecksville, displayed firefighting apparatus.

Northern Valley EMS personnel were on hand to educate anyone interested in learning basic first aid and provide services in the event of any mishaps during the event.

Dirt track race cars were on display as well.

PITSTOP, the clown, delighted children and parents with his “pet.” PITSTOP was assisted by his longtime friend Harold Reitz.

Using his innate kindness, PITSTOP was even made friends with shy youngsters who were not sure what this very colorful man was all about.
