Northampton: Food bank to hold walkathon
Northampton Area Food Bank will hold its Halloween walkathon Oct. 27.
Registration begins 8:30 a.m. at the food bank, 1601 Canal St. The walk starts 9 a.m., rain or shine. Those planning to attend are encouraged to walk in costume. Sponsor sheets are available at the food bank. Participants may also bring their own sheet to the registration area.

Halloween Wheels on the Canal will be held 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 27 at Canal Street Park. Rain date is Nov. 3.
The car show is open to all vehicles. Event organizers are seeking independent sales vendors, craft vendors and food vendors to participate.
There is a registration fee. All vendors must be preregistered. Vehicles can either preregister or register at the event. Registration begins 8 a.m.
Other highlights of the day include a basket raffle, deejay and a toy collection to benefit Toys for Tots.
This is a not-for-profit event with all proceeds going to help veterans. All proceeds will be split between Mission 22 and Blue Star Mothers of America, Lehigh Valley Chapter No. 201.

Quota Club International of Northampton will be celebrating 90 years of existence and service to the community at an Oct. 28 dinner and program, held 12:30-3 p.m. at Northampton Banquet & Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave.
This group undertakes several projects each year to benefit needs within our communities, such as Northampton Area Food Bank, Santa shopping, speech and hearing scholarships and more.

The Women of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 19th Street and Lincoln Avenue, is holding a breakfast social 8-11:30 a.m. Nov. 3. The menu includes eggs, sausage, pancakes, hash browns, toast and beverage.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1235 Main St., is planning a designer bag bingo Nov. 17.
Doors open 11:30 a.m., The games begin 1 p.m.
The prizes will include items from Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Vera Bradley and Coach collections.
A ticket includes 20 games. Specials will be sold separately. A Chinese auction is also planned.

Assumption of the Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1301 Newport Ave., is holding a nut roll sale. Varieties include apricot, lekvar, nut, poppy seed, red raspberry and pumpkin cheese.
