Weisenberg Township supervisors have agreed to rebid tree trimming along New Smithville Road. A previous request for bids went unanswered.

In addition, services of a CPA to audit the township’s books for the year will be advertised.

Joe Rocco and Joe Kolarik, representing Hunt Meadows subdivision, were at the board’s Oct. 8 meeting to request a reduction in their escrow fund.

The board agreed to release $43,994.40 to the developer.

Peter Everett, representing Gateway Ridge, was at the meeting to discuss a change in the driveway location to lot at 3524 Alyssa Court.

He requested placement of a driveway along Danner Road but the board decided against this.

All driveways, including construction and final, must access Alyssa Court.

Amendments to the fireworks ordinance of 2004 have been drafted and are ready for review.

A speed reduction on Packhouse Road was requested. A speed study will be done along with one on Kern Road.

An ordinance establishing a speed limit on Mohr and Apple roads will be up for adoption next month.

Speed limit will be 25 mph and the intersection of Mohr and Apple will be a four-way stop intersection.

Supervisors received a complaint about turkeys trespassing on neighboring property along Edelweiss Road.

Walt Snyder asked if the township could do anything about the problem.

Township Administrator Brian Carl told Snyder nothing could be done at the township level.

Carl, wearing his fire chief hat, reported the Weisenberg Fire Company responded to 180 calls this year.

He also said there will be flea market on Oct. 27 (rain or shine) at the fire station.

Food will be available for purchase. All proceeds from space rental and food sales will go to the fire company.

Supervisor Tony Werley reported the road crew will be mowing, cleaning pipes, getting equipment ready for winter, among other jobs.
