WESTERN SALISBURY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The Western Salisbury Elementary PTA is holding the fall book fair. Students will visit the fair with their classrooms either Oct. 17 or 18. But the big event is the book bingo 6-8 p.m. Oct. 19. There will be a visit from Scholastic character Geronimo Stilton, a cupcake raffle and for every student who plays bingo – a free book. Come out, have fun, win some books and buy some, too.

Salisbury Township schools will have an early dismissal Oct. 19. The high school and middle school dismiss 12:15 p.m. and the elementary schools let out 1 p.m.

The first Coffee and Conversation with Salisbury Township School District Superintendent Dr. Randy Ziegenfuss and Assistant Superintendent Lynn Fuini-Hetten will be held 8:15-9 a.m. Oct. 23 at Salisbury High School.

Trick or Treat night for Salisbury Township will be held 6-8 p.m. Oct. 26. Leave your porch light on if you have candy to hand out.

The Salisbury Township Public Works Department will begin the curbside vacuum leaf collection Oct. 26.

The collection will begin in the First Ward (east) and will continue westward through mid to late December, weather permitting. Residents are asked to place their leaves along the edge of the road.

To facilitate the vacuum leaf pickup, please keep all vehicles away from the area where leaves are piled.

For the residents’ convenience, the township will post leaf crew location and general direction of collection each Friday throughout the leaf season at www.salisburytownshippa.org. The location will also be posted in the township office.

The Devonshire drop-off is open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 20.
