Mary Ann Kusko, 62, of Center Valley, formerly of Allentown, died at Sacred Heart Assisted Senior Living facility.

She was the daughter of Mary (Hreshko) Kusko and the late Joseph Kusko.

She attended Lafayette College and graduated from Penn State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology.

She served in student government and played intramural team tennis at both colleges.

She was a member of the Freshman Day Organizing Committee at Lafayette. She received her Master’s degree in telecommunications.

Her proudest accomplishment was serving as the past president of the pro-life Committee at Cathedral St. Catharine of Siena where she was a member.

At the Cathedral she enjoyed instructing CCD students in first through seventh grades for 30 years and as a news writer for the Cathedral Vision.

She was a past board member of the Women’s Alliance for 16 years.

She was a member of the St. Thomas Prayer Group and was a newsletter writer for Sacred Heart Assisted Living by the Creek, Center Valley.

She was a dedicated fan of Penn State where she was on the board of the Penn State Alumni Society, the secretary of the alumni chapter of Penn State Lehigh Valley and on the banquet committee for 15 years.

She was the editor of Free Press/East Penn Edition for four years, editor of Community Life Section in the Quakertown Daily Free Press and a freelance writer for The Morning Call and Eastern PA Business Journal.

While working on her Master’s degree and freelance writing, she worked in retail at Leh’s department store and C. Leslie Smith Silversmith Shop.

She was in Who’s Who in American Women, member of the former Cathedral Single’s Group and the spiritual chairman and a member of the International Association of Business Communicators and the American Association of University Women.

She will be remembered for her involvement in the Catholic faith, Penn State enthusiasm, her care and concern for those in her life and for her infectious smile.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by brothers James and his wife, Cheryl, of Bethlehem and David and his wife, Rebecca Massie, of Houston, Texas; nieces and nephews Cara Reagan (wife of the late Brian), Stephanie Cramer and husband Andrew, Meghan and husband Michael Shutte, John, Rebecca Elizabeth and Joseph Winfield; great-nieces and nephews Brian, Caleb, and Aurora Reagan, Kyle and Kurt Cramer.
