Patriots win in OT; Tiger knock off Saucon Valley
The eighth week of the 2018 high school football season saw two unbeaten teams fall as Freedom downed Emmaus and Northwestern took out Saucon Valley.

Freedom-Emmaus
The Patriots scored a pair of late touchdowns to tie the game before winning with a two-point conversion in overtime to improve to 8-0 while handing Emmaus (7-1) its first loss.
Lubens Myers ran for 137 yards an two touchdowns for Emmaus. Quarterback Ethan Parvel completed 14 of 23 passes for 271 yards and one score. Deonte Castro caught seven passes for 117 yards and a touchdown.
Bethlehem Catholic-Easton
The Golden Hawks beat Easton 28-7.
The Bethlehem Catholic defense held the Rovers (5-3) to just 167 yards of offense.
Zaheer Seabrook rushed for 159 yards on 15 carries, including a Hawks’ touchdown. Teammate Tavion Banks piled up 140 yards on 28 carries while scoring a pair of touchdowns for Bethlehem Catholic (6-2).
Nazareth-Whitehall
Nazareth beat the Zephyrs 28-7, with a fourth-quarter touchdown preventing the shut out.
Anthony Harris completed 24 of 41 passes for Nazareth while throwing three touchdowns. Tommy Mantos caught 12 passes for 239 yards and was one of three players to catch touchdown passes for the Blue Eagles (4-4).
Anthony Nanoah passed for 181 yards and a touchdown for Whitehall (1-7). Allen Negrete caught five passes for 126 yards and his team’s only touchdown.
Northwestern-Saucon Valley
Tiger quarterback Deven Bollinger tied his own single-game school record with five touchdowns passes in a 49-28 win over previously-unbeaten Saucon Valley (7-1).
Bollinger completed 12 of 17 attempts for 193 yards. Justin Rodda caught six passes for 121 yards and three touchdowns, while Derek Holmes had four catches for 51 yards and a pair of scores.
Nick Henry rushed for 154 yards on 17 carries, while Bollinger had 116 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries for the Tigers (6-2). Northwestern had 489 yard of offense in the game.
The Panthers’ Ian Csicsek ran for 139 yards on 21 carries, including two touchdown runs.
Bangor-Salisbury
The Slaters beat Salisbury 45-10.
Bangor held the Falcons to just 169 yards of offense and didn’t give up a touchdown until the fourth quarter.
Garrett Deboer piled up 123 yards on 16 carries for the Slaters (4-4).
Salisbury’s Delano Mackenzie ran for 93 yards and a touchdown on seven carries as the Falcons fall to 2-6.
Catasauqua-Notre Dame (Green Pond)
The Crusaders shut out Catasauqua 49-0.
Notre Dame quarterback Cole DeFranco completed 11 or 19 passes for 236 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Christian Greggo piled up 109 yards on five carries for the Crusaders (7-1).
