Whitehall Township Public Library: Library to host eBay program

The library will be presenting a free How to Sell on eBay program 10 a.m.-noon Oct. 13 in the library community room.

Library director Patty Vahey will present the basics of eBay use, so you can learn how to list your items, ship them and get paid.

***

The library will host a basket raffle starting 9:30 a.m. Oct. 15. The event runs until noon Oct. 29 when winners will be drawn.

If you do not pick up your basket by Nov. 5, another ticket will be drawn, and the basket will go to the next winner.

You do not need to be present to win, but your name and phone number need to be on the ticket stub.

***

The Nature’s Magic, Mysteries and Myths program will be presented 11 a.m. Oct. 17. This program is free and open to all ages.

Jolie Chylack, from the Lehigh County Conservation District, will help us get into the spirit of Halloween as we explore the fun mysteries and myths of the natural world.

***

The library will be closed all day Oct. 19. The staff will be learning new software, reviewing the library policies and hearing from guest speakers.

There will be no fines on items due that day. The library will be open for regular hours Oct. 20.

***

Lehigh Valley Storytelling Guild will tell Halloween stories 6:30 p.m. Oct. 24.

Charles Kiernan and Judy England-McCarthy will tell stories about the unexpected, the unusual and the unheard of, as well as less-scary stories to bring fun into the season.

***

Helping Hearts and Handbags Inc. will be collecting gently used purses in any size.

They fill the purses with items and distribute them to homeless women living in the area or in shelters. They are also collecting travel-size toiletries, small packs of tissues, female products, lotions, toothpaste, deodorants, socks, etc. The collection box is inside the library by the front window.

Are you looking for a way to help your library? We need gift cards from any store, especially Walmart and AC Moore; art supplies, especially washable black markers; colored printer paper; anti-bacterial wipes; birdseed; small bells; individually wrapped candies; and colored duct tape.
