REP. Mako
State Rep. Zach Mako, R-183rd, will host a chronic wasting disease seminar 7-8:30 p.m. Oct. 11 at Blue Mountain Fish and Game Association, 4190 Wood Drive, Walnutport.
CWD is a contagious, always fatal disease that infects deer and elk in Pennsylvania.
The disease is transmitted both directly through animal-to-animal contact and indirectly through food and soil contaminated with bodily secretions including feces, urine and saliva.
No evidence exists CWD is transmissible to humans or traditional livestock.
A Pennsylvania Game Commission representative will speak about CWD, how the agency is working to contain it and what residents and sportsmen can do to help.
There also will be a question-and-answer segment.
To reserve a seat, visit RepMako.com or call his district offices at 610-502-2701 or 610-760-9805.
