Suburban North Family YMCA is sponsoring the third annual Debbie Linton Memorial 5K Oct. 13.

Registration will start 9 a.m., with the race starting 10 a.m.

As a tribute to Linton, the scenic course will start and end at Alumni Field. A celebration picnic will immediately follow at the YMCA.

Medals will be awarded to the top three in each age category.

Sponsorship levels are available.

The goal is to remember and capture the energy of Linton and others who fought, or continue to fight, a brave battle against breast cancer.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, Fourth and Pine streets, will be holding a spaghetti dinner fundraiser 4-7 p.m. Oct. 13.

The meal consists of spaghetti with meat or marinara sauce, salad, roll and butter, beverage and dessert bar.

Tickets will be sold at the door. Takeout is available.

The fundraiser benefits the pastor’s discretionary fund, Coffee with a Cop and Holy Trinity’s youth work out in the community.
