Board OKs subdivision

Albert Paul has asked Washington Township supervisors, during their Oct. 2 meeting to permit the farm from his mother’s estate to be subdivided.

Ten acres and a house at 6011 Creek Road, zoned rural village, were to be sold as his mother had indicated she did not want it rented. Payment is to be divided with his brother.

The property has been surveyed and the township planning commission gave a recommendation for the subdivision to supervisors.

The sewage planning module was also approved.

In other matters, the board approved exoneration of two per capita tax bills for members of the military.

A thank-you letter was received from the Lehigh Gap Nature Center for a $2,000 donation.

Supervisors released $20,000, as budgeted, to the Star Hose Company, Emerald.

The donation is pending receipt of last year’s financial statement.

Representatives from the eighth annual half-marathon of the Delaware and Lehigh Heritage Corridor, scheduled for Nov. 4, asked if a section of D&L Trail could be used.

Grove Street and part of Route 873 will be closed Oct. 27 for the Northern Lehigh Halloween Parade.

During the public comment portion of the meeting, resident Ed Ziegler said the Boy Scouts have a storage trailer in poor condition and want to replace it.

However, they cannot bring in the replacement until the old one, located at the food bank across the street from the municipal building, is removed.

Trick-or-Treat Night will be 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31.
