Emmaus and Freedom both won football games Friday night to improve to 7-0 and set up next week’s match up of the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference’s last two unbeaten teams. Parkland won a rivalry game over Whitehall Friday night, while Bethlehem Catholic picked up a win on Saturday.

Here’s a recap of this week’s games from around the Lehigh Valley Press area.

Whitehall-Parkland

The Trojans picked up a 49-21 win over Whitehall Friday night in Orefield.

Dominic Nelson ran for 121 yards on 12 carries with two touchdowns for Parkland (5-2). Quarterback Tanner Lewis completed 11 of 12 passes for 147 yards, two scores and one interception. Connor Bernecker (4 receptions, 68 yards) caught both touchdown passes.

Asher Reeded also ran for a Trojan touchdown.

Anthony Nanoah completed five of 13 passes for 134 yards and one touchdown for Whitehall (1-6). He also ran for 27 yards and one touchdown. Joseph Herman and Allen Negrete caught touchdown passes in the game.

Emmaus-Central Catholic

The Hornets improved to 7-0 with a 49-14 win over Central Catholic Saturday at J. Birney Crum Stadium.

Emmaus’ Brandon Camier ran for 127 yards and two touchdowns on five carries, including a 96-yard touchdown run that capped Emmaus’ scoring in the third quarter. Sone Ntoh ran the ball twice for Emmaus, both for touchdowns. Ntoh scored from a yard out and from 33 yards.

Hornet Quarterback Ethan Parvel completed six of nine passes for 118 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for a score. Deonte Casto (3 receptions, 68 yards) caught the touchdown pass.

Emmaus remains tied with Freedom at the top of the EPC South Division standings. The Hornets and Patriots meet Friday night in Emmaus.

Easton-Freedom

The Patriots jumped on Freedom, going ahead 35-0 in the first half to earn a 35-7 win and remain unbeaten.

Jared Jenkins threw for three touchdowns, completing 10 of 14 passes for 170 yards with no interceptions. Rontay Dunbar (4 catches, 71 yards), Gabe Caton (3 catches, 51 yards) and Vince Resh (2 catches, 33 yards) all caught touchdowns in the win.

Jalen Stewart ran the ball 12 times for 69 yards and a score for the Patriots (7-0). Tristan Wheeler had a one-yard touchdown run to start Freedom’s scoring.

Freedom’s defense allowed just 172 yards and forced three turnovers.

Easton (5-2) got a fourth-quarter touchdown on a 52-yard pass from Cole Transue to Aidan Harrison.

East Stroudsburg South-Bethlehem Catholic

The Golden Hawks beat East Stroudsburg South 41-28 Saturday at Bethlehem Area School District Stadium.

Bethlehem Catholic’s Zaheer Seabrooks ran for 147 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 21 carries. Tavion Banks (6 carries, 101 yards) and Paul Carreras (5 carries, 32 yards) also ran for touchdowns as the Hawks piled up 328 rushing yards and 422 total yards.

Zamar Brake completed five of 12 passes for 89 yards and a touchdown to Matt Stianche (3 catches, 64 yards). The Hawks improve to 5-2 while the Cavaliers fall to 4-3.

Stroudsburg-Northampton

The Mountaineers took sole possession of first place in the EPC North Division with a 34-26 win over Northampton at Erdosy Stadium.

Stroudsburg’s Dimitri Rojas ran 20 times for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while teammate Sherwin Stewart had 161 yards on 13 carries, including one touchdown for the Mounties (6-1).

Northampton Tyrese Brandon carried the ball 14 times for 140 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also caught a touchdown pass. Joe Kerbacher completed five of 11 passes for 41 yards and two touchdowns.

Josh Raycheck also caught a touchdown pass for Northampton (5-2). Kyle Wescoe led the team with five receptions for 48 yards.

Liberty-Nazareth

The host Blue Eagles beat Liberty 26-13.

Nazareth improved to 3-4 with the win, while the Hurricanes fall to 2-5.

Salisbury-Northern Lehigh

The Bulldogs beat Salisbury 27-13 Friday night in Slatington.

Justin Paul ran for 165 yards and a touchdown for Northern Lehigh (4-3), while teammate Gage Hunsicker scored twice on seven carries for 22 yards as the Bulldogs ran for 248 yards in the game and none through the air. They attempted one pass, which fell incomplete.

Salisbury (2-5) was led by Delano Mackenzie, who ran the ball eight times for 43 yards and a touchdown while catching three passes for 38 yards. Quarterback Jacob Kamp also ran for a Falcon touchdown.

Southern Lehigh-Northwestern

Visiting Southern Lehigh came away with a 45-21 win over Northwestern Friday night in New Tripoli.

Quarterback Logan Edmonds (17-for-26, 321 yards) and receiver Dalton Musselman (10 catches, 222 yards) hooked up for four touchdowns as the Spartans (4-3). Edmonds also ran for 78 yards, while Musselman ran for 37 yards and a score as Southern Lehigh accumulated 450 yards of offense in the game.

The Tigers (5-2) were led by quarterback Deven Bollinger, who completed 16 of 32 passes for 243 yards. he also ran for 44 yards and all three of his team’s touchdowns.

Justin Rodda caught five passes for 76 yards, while Nick Henry led the team in rushing with 10 carries for 59 yards.

Palmerton-Catasauqua

The Blue Bombers jumped out to a 33-point halftime lead and rolled to a 59-14 win over Catasauqua Friday night at Alumni Field.

Jordan Nelson carried the ball nine times for 83 yards and two touchdowns for the visitors, while he also completed 14 of 19 passes for 236. Aarom Stasko caught five passes for 104 yards and Palmerton (205) ran up 500 yards of offense in the win (246 rushing, 254 passing).

The Rough Riders’ Wilquon Clemons ran for 115 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. Catty falls to 1-6 with the loss.
