SALISBURY HIGH SCHOOL

Parents, guardians and students attended a dual enrollment information meeting Sept. 20 at Salibury High School.

Dual enrollment allows students at SHS to receive college credit from Seton Hall for courses they are already taking at the high school. These courses include languages, electives and select core classes. A complete list was provided to students, parents and guardians.

Dual enrollment classes include Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition, a full-year class taught by Carla Pacitti; AP Language and Composition, a full-year class taught by Joseph Pacitti; Media Management I, a full-year class taught by Kelly Wetherhold; Public Speaking, a semester class taught by Kelly Butterbaugh; Public Speaking, a semester class taught by Anne Schneider; AP Calculus, a full-year class taught by Jonathan Ruiz; AP World History, fall and spring classes taught by Michael Barna; German IV, fall and spring classes taught by Krista Spradlin; Spanish IV, fall and spring classes taught by Brenda Cherry; AP Biology, a full-year class taught by Susan Wilson; Honors Chemistry II, a full-year class taught by Sarah Wascura; Honors Anatomy & Physiology, fall and spring classes taught by Susan Wilson; Honors Physics I, a full-year class taught by Paul Koba and Honors Physics II, a full-year class taught by Paul Koba.

Students interested in taking one of their courses for college credit should first consider which universities/colleges they plan to attend in the future to determine whether those institutions will accept the Seton Hall credit.

SHS is not responsible if credits are not accepted at universities or colleges. Each credit is $100 paid by the parents or guardians which is significantly less than the cost per credit while in college.

Courses are taught by SHS staff and taken at SHS. Students can only apply for three courses per semester, must maintain a C average in the class and can take no more than 22 credits throughout their high school career.

If interested, students, parents and guardians should visit the guidance website and follow the directions to register. All paperwork must be submitted to the student’s SHS guidance counselor no later than Oct. 17.
