Telephone pole severed at L.V. Press office

A driver suffered injuries when his 2008 GMC Sierra pickup struck a Verizon pole 7 a.m. Sept. 11 near the intersection of Walbert Avenue and 26th Street, South Whitehall Township.

According to South Whitehall Township police, the driver was westbound on Walbert Avenue, when for unknown reasons, the pickup crossed the center double yellow line and struck the pole on the south side of the road.

Police say the extent of the driver’s injuries were unknown as the individual was transported by Cetronia Ambulance Corps to St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown.

This crash remains under investigation.
