VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION/ AMERICAN STROKE ASSOCIATION, Bethlehem, is looking for volunteers for their 2018 Lehigh Valley Heart Walk Sept. 22. Volunteers are needed 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Help is needed to set up, man tents, water stations and walk route as well as cleanup. Lunch will be provided. BETHLEHEM SPECIAL OLYMPICS needs volunteers to work one-on-one or in small groups with their athletes in the pool. Practices are held 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and start in October; the greatest need is first shift 6 to 7 p.m. Volunteers must be strong swimmers, but do not need to know all strokes; freestyle, side stroke and treading water are a must. CELTIC CULTURAL ALLIANCE, Bethlehem, invites you to join the 800 new friends waiting to meet you at the Celtic Classic Highland Games & Festival Sept. 28, 29 and 30. Many interesting positions ranging from stage hands, ticket sales, supply, runners, merchandise coordinators, to beer tappers and wine servers are available. EASTERN PA DOWN SYNDROME CENTER, Breinigsville – The Lehigh Valley Buddy Walk will be held Oct. 6 at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center (rain or shine). Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles from setup to assistance with games and activities, food and water distribution, bounce house assistance and cleanup. LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville, is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week and is looking for volunteers to help Monday through Friday. Volunteers help at a variety of interactive stations including: giraffe feedings, lorikeet landing, goat and barnyard exhibit team and kangaroo tour team. PROJECT OF EASTON needs volunteers to help with food pantry donation pickup. Help to gather items donated from neighborhood grocery stores, convenience stores, local farms, etc. and drop off at its food pantry. WESTMINSTER VILLAGE, Allentown, is in need of volunteers to help transport residents to activities, help with activities, engage and interact with the senior population or provide help with folding and delivery of laundry to residents.
