The Vine Church

Pastor Adam Kern, of The Vine Church, which meets at the Schnecksville Grange, 5322 Route 873, has announced several forthcoming endeavors for the organization.

“We are rolling out a new children’s ministry and revamping the area downstairs,” Kern said.

“We’re transforming the basement where kids will want to come.

“And, we have a new director of children’s ministry with a background in education.”

The first children’s church lesson will be on Sept. 16.

Kern provided the mission statement for the children’s ministry: “This is a place for families to know God and understand His word, share His love, foster a personal relationship with Christ, and encourage their growth by spreading the truth of God’s love into the community.”

Children ages 3 to 13 are invited to come each week during the school year for scripture, Christian music, crafts and special events. Services are 6 p.m. Sundays.

“We have a passion for teaching the Bible, verse-by-verse, chapter-by-chapter,” Kern said.

Members of The Vine Church engage in outreach each month.

This summer, they joined with the Kingdom Life Family Center, Orefield, to distribute groceries and other items to more than 400 people from the City of Allentown.

The Vine Church also had an outdoor fellowship where 10 people were baptized in a backyard pool.

Church volunteers will host the annual fall flea market 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 13 at Schnecksville Grange.

On Oct. 21, The Vine Church will offer a community fall festival with free ice cream, snow cones, music, games and activities.
