Where there’s smoke: Glenn Hughes, above, performs classic Deep Purple live, 8 p.m. Sept. 8, Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe. Hughes, former bassist and singer of Deep Purple, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 20l6. Performing with Hughes are Soren Anderson, guitar; Jesper Bo Hansen, keyboards, and Fernando Escobedo, drums. It’s the first time Hughes has performed a concert solely of Deep Purple material since his last show with Deep Purple at the Liverpool Empire in 1976. Said Hughes: “As my manager pointed out to me, the first time ‘Smoke on The Water’ was ever played live at Madison Square Garden was when David [Coverdale] and I were in the band in 1974.
