An 18-year-old male, of Sunbury, was taken into custody for stealing a vehicle after a traffic stop on Cedar Street at Race Street Aug. 24.

Police were dispatched after a vehicle reported stolen from a hospital in Bern Township was reported to be in the area, according to Macungie Police. The cellphone of the owner of the vehicle was in the vehicle and the owner tracked the phone and car to the Macungie area.

Police investigation revealed the driver took the vehicle from the hospital lot and was on his way to a drug transaction when stopped by police.

The Lehigh County Auto Theft Task Force also assisted, according to Macungie police.
