Northern Valley EMS dedicates three new ambulances

Northern Valley Emergency Medical Services Inc., had a truck housing ceremony on Aug. 7 at its headquarters in Coplay.

Rather than the usual dedication of one new ambulance, this time three new ambulances were dedicated at one time.

NOVA’s old ambulances were well past their prime and in need of replacement rather than further repairs.

One ambulance had logged more than 200,000 miles, quite an accomplishment as ambulances are not pampered.

Township officials and residents from the North Whitehall, Washington, Heidelberg and portions of Lowhill townships and the Boroughs of Slatington and Walnutport, all served by NOVA, were on hand to take part in the ceremony.

NOVA’s headquarters include a “North” station in Slatington and a “West” station in Heidelberg Township, allowing a quicker response time for emergencies in those and nearby communities.
