Grandstand show: Sugarland returns to The Great Allentown Fair, where the group last performed in 2011, with a Grandstand concert, 7 p.m. Aug. 31. Opening the concert are Frankie Ballard and Lindsay Ell. Sugarland is an Atlanta, Ga., based country music duo of singer-songwriters Jennifer Nettles, lead vocals, and Kristian Bush, vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin. Sugarland’s first hit was in 2004 with “Baby Girl” from the multi-platinum debut album, “Twice The Speed Of Life.” The second album produced the first two No. 1 singles in the United States, “Want To” and “Settlin,’” and garnered a Grammy Award for “Stay.” In 2008, a third album, “Love On The Inside,” yielded three more No. 1 singles, “All I Want To Do,” “Already Gone” and “It Happens.” The fourth album, “The Incredible Machine,” released in 2010, went platinum. Grandstand show: 5 Seconds Of Summer is in concert, 8 p.m. Sept. 1, Allentown Fair Grandstand. Opening the concert is The Aces. 5 Seconds of Summer (known as 5SOS) is an Australian punk rock band from Sydney, New South Wales, formed in 2011. 5SOS is Luke Hemmings, lead vocals, guitar, keyboards; Michael Clifford, guitar, vocals, keyboards; Calum Hood, bass guitar, vocals, keyboards, and Ashton Irwin, drums, percussion, vocals, keyboards. The group achieved international fame touring with One Direction. In 2014, the band released its debut single, “She Looks So Perfect,” from its self-titled debut studio album. The second album, “Sounds Good Feels Good,” was released in 2015. The third album, “Youngblood,” released in June, debuted at No. 1 in the United States, with the hit singles, ”Want You Back,” and the title track. 5SOS became the first Australian act to achieve three chart-toppers on the Billboard 200 chart.
