Police from several Lehigh County municipalities participated Aug. 10 in a sobriety checkpoint along Broadway in Salisbury Township, near its border with Fountain Hill Borough, under the auspices of the Lehigh Valley Regional DUI Task Force. Twenty officers from Salisbury, Allentown, Emmaus, Macungie, Upper Macungie, South Whitehall and Whitehall participated in the checkpoint.

The checkpoint was held 11 p.m. Aug. 10 through 4 a.m. Aug. 11; during that time, 431 vehicles were traveling westbound and 325 vehicles were traveling eastbound. There were six drivers stopped for driving while under the influence, three drivers in possession of a small amount of marijuana, one driver with a firearm without a license and two drivers who were operating a vehicle while under suspension. No officers were injured during this event.

A 48-year-old man, of Albrightsville, was charged with summary harassment and disorderly conduct following an alleged incident in the 1200 block of South Cedar Crest Boulevard 2:02 p.m. Aug. 9.

A vehicle with no license plate was found in the 600 block of East Federal Street 8:32 p.m. Aug. 9. Police determined the vehicle had been reported stolen from Allentown.

A Salisbury resident in the 800 block of Lawrence Street purchased a guitar from eBay in May from a seller in Delaware. It was determined the guitar was stolen. The Salisbury resident turned the guitar over to Salisbury police and is working with authorities in Delaware to have the money returned.

A vehicle was reported parked by a fire hydrant for several days in the 700 block of East Barner Street. Police determined 11:49 a.m. Aug. 15 the vehicle was reported stolen from Allentown. The owners came and got the vehicle.

A black Mystic bicycle was found in the 1700 block of Broadway 7:30 p.m. Aug. 15. The bicycle is at Salisbury police headquarters.

An unknown person used a fraudulent credit card to purchase 20 packs of cigarettes at Daisy Hill Market, 1848 E. Susquehanna St., 12:16 p.m. Aug. 9. A second attempt to purchase additional cigarettes was denied by the credit card company. Police are investigating.

A Salisbury resident in the 900 block of Bridle Path Road reported 1:20 p.m. Aug. 11, receiving a call from someone posing as a representative from the federal government reporting there was a lawsuit pending against the resident.

A Salisbury resident in the 400 block of East Montgomery Street reported 7:09 p.m. Aug. 1, receiving a call from someone who said they had personal information about the resident which had expired and the resident was instructed to call back or face arrest.

A Salisbury resident in the 300 block of East Wayne Avenue reported 7:15 p.m. Aug. 13, receiving a call from someone stating the resident’s Social Security number would be affected and the resident would be arrested if they didn’t call back.

Members at Trident Swim Club, 1060 Flexer Ave., contacted police 4 p.m. Aug. 13 after discovering an unknown person attempted to pry open a locked door. Members replaced the lock before calling police.

Anthony Sanchez, 25, of Bethlehem, was charged with allegedly carrying a firearm without a license, driving without a license and possession of drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop 12:47 a.m. Aug. 11. Sanchez was taken to Central Booking for processing.

Charles McAuley, 50, of Trumbauersville, was charged with alleged possession of firearm prohibited, firearms not to be carried without a license, restrictions on alcoholic beverages, driving license suspended and driving while under the influence following a stop in the 3000 block of South Pike Avenue 2:13 p.m. Aug. 14. He was taken to Central Booking for processing.

A wallet was removed from an unlocked vehicle in the 900 block of South Elizabeth Street. The incident was reported 9:02 a.m. Aug. 14. The wallet contained gift cards, three credit cards, a checkbook and a driver’s license. Charges have been made out-of-state to one of the credit cards. Police are investigating.

A purse was removed from a locked vehicle in the 2500 block of Green Acres Drive. The incident was reported 11:23 a.m. Aug. 14. The purse contained $25, Social Security cards, credit cards and a driver’s license. Charges have been made out-of-state to one of the credit cards. Police are investigating.

Police responded to a fire alarm 9:13 a.m. Aug. 11 in the 1600 block of Riverside Drive.

Police responded to a hold up alarm 4:30 p.m. Aug. 11 in the 3300 block of Lehigh Street.

Police responded to a burglar alarm 6:38 p.m. Aug. 12 in the 3100 block of Berger Street.

Police responded to a burglar alarm 8:22 p.m. Aug. 14 in the 1000 block of Flexer Avenue.

Police responded to a fire alarm 1:27 a.m. Aug. 15 in the 3700 block of Devonshire Road.
