Garrett Pruzinsky, of Whitehall, has qualified for the spring 2018 dean’s list at Seton Hall University.

Bloomsburg University is one of 14 universities in Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education. The university serves approximately 9,600 students, offering comprehensive programs of study in the colleges of education, business, liberal arts and science and technology.
Arcadia University
Lauren Schopf, of Whitehall, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Arcadia University during a commencement ceremony May 18. She also made the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester. She presented at the International Conference of the Fantastic in the Arts in her junior and senior years. In her senior year, she presented her thesis titled “The ‘Lord’ of the Rings: The Binding Power of the One Ring Through Anglo-Saxon Hierarchy” at several conferences.
Stevenson University
Emily Castro and Christina Endy, both of Whitehall, were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at Stevenson University. The dean’s list recognizes full-time undergraduate students whose academic achievement is outstanding in each semester. To qualify, a student must earn a GPA of 3.5 or better and must have completed 12 credits or more during that semester.
Stevenson University is a coeducational, independent institution widely known for its unique synthesis of traditional liberal arts education and exceptional career preparation. The 4,200 students receive an innovative education from the six academic schools - business and leadership, design, education, sciences, humanities and social sciences, and graduate and professional studies. Hofstra University
Hofstra University has announced Foyinsi Adegbonmire, of Whitehall, graduated May 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
In addition, Adegbonmire was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa during the spring 2018 semester. He was one of 58 students to join this honor society. Phi Beta Kappa is considered an emblem of high achievement and strong potential. The society celebrates and advocates excellence in the liberal arts and sciences. Its campus chapters invite for induction the most outstanding arts and sciences students at America’s leading colleges and universities. The society sponsors activities to advance these studies - the humanities, the social sciences and the natural sciences - in higher education and in society at large. Only about 10 percent of the nation’s institutions of higher learning have Phi Beta Kappa chapters.

Saint Francis University
Christopher Weidner, of Walnutport, was among the 27 Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) graduates in 2018 who achieved 100-percent pass rate on the national licensure exam. This examination is offered through the National Physical Therapy Examination. All 27 graduates have accepted positions in their field.
“Saint Francis University is very proud of the accomplishments of its most recent graduating class. This is the second time in three years our students have achieved this result,” said Dr. Ivan Mulligan PT, DSC, ATC, SCS, department of physical therapy chair.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of physical therapists is projected to grow almost 30 percent from 2016 to 2026, much faster than the average for all occupations. As demand for health care services grows, physical therapists will be needed to provide care to patients.
The physical therapy program at Saint Francis University has maintained accreditation since its inception in 2000. In 2015, the program was granted its accreditation-continued status until 2025. This 10-year reaffirmation is the highest rating a program may receive. Saint Francis University (francis.edu) in Loretto is the oldest Catholic-Franciscan college in the United States.
Colgate University
Colgate University has announced the students who earned the dean’s award for academic excellence for the spring 2018 semester. Students who receive a term grade-point average of 3.3 or higher while completing at least three courses earn this status.
Bath: Samantha Rodriguez, a graduate of Easton Area High School, is member of the Class of 2021. Her current major is undeclared.
Whitehall: Brittany Quinn, a graduate of Whitehall High School, is a member of the Class of 2020. Her current major is sociology.
Colgate University offers 56 majors to a diverse student body of approximately 2,900 undergraduate students, and it supports 25 Division I athletic teams. Since 1819, the university’s campus in rural central New York has been renowned for its beauty and for the important role it plays in the student experience.
