Coplay Borough’s 150th anniversary committee will meet 7 p.m. this evening, Aug. 16, in council chambers at the borough hall, 98 S. Fourth St.

A parade with a historical theme will be held May 18, 2019, with the line of march beginning at Second and Chestnut streets, which was the same route the 100th centennial parade took in 1969.

From 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 20, Coplay Public Library will have a free music movie for all to enjoy. “Mary Poppins” is the featured film.

Also, a teen program called Sound: Body and Mind is set for 6-7 p.m. Aug. 22.

The borough’s Parkway Pool remains open through Aug. 26. On Aug. 25 and 26, there is a free swim, after which the pool closes for the summer.

Coplay Athletic Club, which operates a fitness center on the second floor of borough hall, will sponsor a baseball tournament for the borough’s 150th anniversary celebration. The games will be played at the parkway courts.
