With the fall course registration deadline right around the corner, Kutztown University is reminding the local community of the KU Advant*age program, which allows retired Pennsylvania residents 62 and older the ability to access free tuition at KU for college-level courses, while only being responsible for minimal fees.
Part of KU’s mission is to promote lifelong avenues of learning and discovery. The Advant*age program provides Pennsylvania residents who are fully retired, the opportunity to continue enhancing their education. Students can study the stars, explore the local German heritage, or pursue a degree in one of KU’s colleges.
To qualify for the program, students must be a resident of Pennsylvania for at least one year, 62 years of age and fully retired. Courses may also be audited, which is when no grade is assigned. This offer may be used for up to a total of 21 credits.
The deadline to register for the fall semester is Aug. 23. Admission to courses is based on availability and tuition waiver per the approval of the president. Students are responsible for minimal fees, including those mandated by the Pennsylvania State System and university, as well as course materials.
