Cedar Crest College

Adult and Grad Ed sessions Aug. 18

Locals in Colombia program

Six Bethlehem area residents traveled to Servicio National de Aprendizaje’s college campuses in Medellin and Santa Rosa, Colombia, during May and June. The group was part of the 100,000 Strong in the Americas Innovation Fund to study sustainable food production methods.

The NCC students are Anna Boyer, Sarah Kivert, Michael Nieves, Elisa Plaza, Jamie Ratchford and Daniel Stevens.

August ServeSafe course Aug. 13

Northampton Community College will offer a ServeSafe Manager certification workshop of home-study and classroom review from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on August 13 and16 at NCC’s Easton Educational Outreach Center, 25 S. Third St.

The“Seventh Edition ServSafe Manager” text book is required. Participants will have two hours on August 16 in which to take the exam.

Publishing for Writers course offered

Northampton Community College will offer a new specialized diploma, “Publishing for Writers,” for the fall 2018 semester at the Bethlehem Campus.

Topics include preparing for publication, acquiring a literary agent and/or editor, the publishing industry at large, networking and a brief discussion of independent and self-publishing. A completed manuscript or publishable work is helpful, but not required.
