Whitehall Township Public Library: Next Creation Station Club event is Aug. 7 at library

Join us the first Tuesday of every month for Creation Station Club. The next event is 6:30-7:30 p.m. Aug. 7 and is open to all kids.

Construction play teaches children to problem-solve, connect socially, understand and be inquisitive in their play. Playing with no specific set purpose or limitations allows children to use the full force of their imaginations. Also, building something gives children immense satisfaction and a feeling of accomplishment, which is great for their confidence and sense of independence.

Simply Play will be held 1-2 p.m. Aug. 8. This is the time for kids to come in and build with Legos and listen to a story or two.

All kids are invited.

We will have a Super Science and Amazing Art program 6:30 p.m. Aug. 8. This session is open to all ages from kids to adults. The science of sound will be explained.

Come in and find out how to rock out with Cosmic Cathy from Super Science and Amazing Art of Pennsylvania.

Participants will be wowed by the crazy-good time they will have exploring the science of sound.

***

We will have community heroes night 5-8 p.m. Aug. 14 in the picnic area behind the library. Say thank you to some of the men and women who work to keep us safe and healthy and learn a bit more about their jobs.

Guests will be from Whitehall Police Department, Whitehall Fire Department, Cetronia Ambulance Corps, Lehigh County Sheriff’s Office and MedEvac.

Any guests may be called away in the event of an emergency.

There is still time for everyone to sign up for the summer reading program, “Libraries Rock.” We have programs for all ages from kids to adults.
