Northampton police responded to these and other calls recently.

JULY 24

A theft from a building in the 2100 block of Washington Avenue was reported. An engagement ring was taken from a residence.

In the 1400 block of Washington Avenue, police responded to a report of a male and a female causing a disturbance.

JULY 25

The department said a theft from a vehicle occurred in the 1800 block of Canal Street. Police said a legally parked, unlocked vehicle was entered and an old pocket knife taken. Another legally parked unlocked vehicle was entered in the unit block of West 17th Street, but nothing was taken. An officer observed a young male, approximately 17 years old, 6 feet tall, wearing a white baseball-type shirt with red sleeves and jeans entering a legally parked unlocked vehicle in the 1600 block of Newport Avenue. The male ran from the scene, and the officer was unable to locate him. There were two other males, who also ran from the scene, who were observed. One was short with a black shirt, jeans and a scruffy beard. The other male was short with a dark sunburned complexion, approximately 16 years old and wearing a black hoodie.

JULY 26

A domestic dispute between two males occurred in the 300 block of East 11th Street.
