Sen. Pat Browne, R-16th, will hold his annual Community and Family Expo 3 to 7 p.m. at Bucky Boyle Park, North Front and Gordon streets in Allentown. The event is free, open to the public and held rain or shine. The expo is designed to provide valuable information to parents, grandparents and children about the many programs, information and other services available to them from government and community groups. Thanks to Lehigh Valley Cops ‘n’ Kids, all children will receive a free book while supplies last. Wells Fargo is providing a limited number of free backpacks filled with school supplies for children who complete the educational passport. Refreshments will also be available. 55th annual Das Awkscht Fescht at Macungie Memorial Park, Macungie. Also Aug. 4 and 5. Nearly 2,500 cars will be on display at the largest antique and classic car shows in the country, offering three days of food, fun and entertainment for the entire family. A Friday Night Cruise to the Fescht will begin 5:30 p.m. Flamin’ Dick and the Hot Rods will perform. Event includes 500 vendors with auto parts and accessories and the antique auto flea market. Other activities include arts and crafts from more than 100 artisans, free live entertainment and activities for kids. A fireworks display will be held 9:30 p.m. Aug. 4. National Night Out at Emmaus Police Department, 400 Jubilee St., Emmaus, 6 to 8 p.m. Event will include an open house with tours of the facility, a dunking booth (dunk the chief) and grilled hot dogs. National Night Out/Community Day at Salisbury Middle School, 3301 Devonshire Road, 6 to 8 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Salisbury Township Recreation Advisory Committee and the Salisbury Township Police Department. Residents will have an opportunity to meet and greet local police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel. Many activities are planned, including a basket raffle, 50/50 drawing, bingo, kids’ games and activities, moon bounce, home safety tips, neighborhood watch information, music from B-Flat Entertainment Services and more. Food and drinks will be provided at no charge; however, a Boardwalk Bites Food Truck will also be on-site offering additional food for purchase. Bring your favorite treat and you may win a prize as part of the dessert contest. The event will be held rain or shine.
