NORTH WHITEHALL: U.L. Lions offer craft show, festival

Upper Lehigh Lions Club will be staging its annual festival and craft show this weekend at the Union United Church of Christ grove in Neffs.
The event begins on July 27, with refreshment stands opening at 5 p.m. The Scott Marshall Band will perform from 7-10 p.m.
On July 28, breakfast will be available between 8-11 a.m.
The craft show with about 75 vendors will take place 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Matt Miskie, a roving musician who plays guitar, will entertain.
Throughout the day, a health fair will offer child safety ID services, blood pressure screenings, collection of unwanted eyeglasses and Sparky the Fire Dog.
Miller-Keystone Blood Bank will be on site to take collections to replenish local supplies.
The Large Flower Heads will be on stage 7-10 p.m.
Refreshments will be served all day and evening on Saturday.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, is conducting a clothing and housewares drive through Aug. 26.
Usable, wearable clothing appropriate for all ages and all seasons are welcomed.
Accessories such as purses, backpacks, briefcases, hats and scarves are needed.
Household items made of fabric in good condition will be accepted. These include blankets and other bedding, tablecloths, towels and curtains.
Soft toys and smaller size hard toys are also included in the collection.
Place all items in a well-tied bag, and deliver to the church.

Parkland Community Library’s used book sale will take place at St. Joseph the Worker Parish Center, 1879 Applewood Drive, Orefield.
Preview night is from 4-6 p.m. July 26, for an admission fee.
Free sale days are between 9 a.m.-7 p.m. on July 27; 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. July 28; and a bag sale, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. July 29.
