EAST PENN SCHOOL DISTRICT EDUCATION FOUNDATION

The East Penn School District Education Foundation recently celebrated “A Night for Innovation” at the Lehigh Country Club to support the innovator grant program.

The EPSD Education Foundation teacher innovator grant program offers teachers the opportunity to bring STEAM-Powered innovation to their classrooms.

Through this program, the foundation said they have the ability “to enrich, extend and deepen the educational experiences of East Penn School District students with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.”

In the 2016-2017 school year, the foundation awarded $12,600 in innovator grants funding STEAM-focused programs in district kindergarten through grade 12 classrooms.

The annual gala supports the Innovator Grant program at EPSD.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2018-1019 Innovator Grant Program. All EPSD faculty are invited to apply for the $15,000 in grants available to support the STEAM program in the school district. To apply, visit https://www.epsdeducationfoundation.org/innovator-grant-program.html.

The EPSD Education Foundation will host a career exploration fair 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 4 for students in fifth through 12th grade and their families. The event will be held in the Emmaus High School gym, 500 Macungie Ave., Emmaus.

The foundation is seeking Lehigh Valley professionals to discuss topics such as education, reasons for choosing a career and what it takes to be successful.
