Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Fleming Memory Center, Lehigh Valley Physician Group Geriatric Medicine and Abington Manor are co-sponsoring the first annual Lehigh Valley Caregiver Retreat for caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer’s or other dementias 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 30. Kim Campbell, the wife of Grammy Hall of Fame and award-winning music artist Glen Campbell, and co-founder of Careliving.org will be among the featured speakers and honor Glen by continuing his quest to educate people about Alzheimer’s disease. Additionally, Lori LaBey, founder of “Alzheimer’s Speaks,” will present at the retreat. Breakout sessions will include: Arts and Dementia; Avoiding Senior Scams; Elder Law and Senior Safety.

Kim Campbell is an impassioned speaker who has an intimate understanding of the complex challenges faced by people living with dementia and their families. Glen Campbell died Aug. 8, 2017 following a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 81.
Campbell was best known for his string of hits in the late ‘60s and ‘70s – including his signature song, “Rhinestone Cowboy.” Campbell also hosted the CBS variety show “The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour” from 1968 to 1972, which helped him win the CMA Entertainer of the Year award in 1969.
